My husbands bank acoount is frozen due to back child support can the state take all the money from the account?
My husband is not a deadbeat dad and has been fighting to have his child support modified ect.His exwife is an alcoholic with duis and crashed with his daughter in the car on one of the dui’s.she may be facing prison time.the courts in Oregon still have not granted him sole custody even though the mom is a lunatic.The state has frozen his bank accounts.Can they take all the money from his accounts?
Likely it will not be returned, period. This is frequently done to men who never new they had a child and were hit with retroactive award. Even if the money were taken accidentally, it can be kept. You will need a good attorney, including going for custody. You need to know what all you can do on your own, and not pay the attorney to do.
